Top 5 online deals on quad core phones

A flood of quad core phones await us in the near future, and there are several available in the market already. Here are the best deals on those phones.

Quad core phones bring to us a level of performance that was the domain of high end PCs just a couple of years ago. And given the number of things you can do with these phones including connecting them with your TV, or any other large screen, using them for navigation, and also using them as your all in one PC (of course you will need compatible peripherals to do so,) you have all the reasons to pump money into one of these phones. However, it is always better to look for the best deals to save that little something even while buying the best. So here are the best deals on the best smartphones out there.
HTC One X (Rs 29,699)
Sulekha.com is offering this device at at least Rs 1,200 less than other websites. HTC One X was till recently the flagship phone for HTC (replaced by HTC One X+) and comes with a polycarbonate slim unibody with Gorilla Glass strength. Featuring a 4.7 inch HD Super LCD 2 display, the One X supports a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixel, and is therefore great for gaming and doing justice to HD visuals.
HTC has used a slightly contoured Corning Gorilla Glass to protect the display from usual wear and tear. The One X houses a quad core 1.5 GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 mobile processor with an integrated fifth battery saver core. For graphics it has a high performance 12 core Nvidia GeForce GPU that functions on fairly low power and offers the best possible performance for a mobile device.

This smartphone features HTC Sense 4.0 UI with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and you already get Android Jelly Bean 4.1 update for the phone, along with Sense 4+. The phone comes with additional Indian language support as well. Packing a 1 GB RAM, this smartphone offers 16 GB onboard storage, but does not feature a memory card slot, which is a letdown along with the non-removable battery design. HTC has also launched the One X+ smartphone, which comes with 25 per cent better performance and Android Jelly Bean, along with a whopping 64 GB of memory.

Although the device has been launched it will take a few days to reach markets, leaving the flagship spot to the One X for now. Sulekha.com is offering the phone for Rs 29,699 which is about Rs 10,000 lesser than its price was a couple of months ago, and is cheaper by Rs 1,200 from any other website currently, and about Rs 3,000 cheaper than the phone's average price in the market.

Samsung Galaxy Note II (Rs 34,600)

Sulekha.com is offering the phone for Rs 36,900 but is offering either Rs 2,300 of refund or mobile recharge. Samsung Galaxy Note II is still the biggest smartphone out there from any MNC brand, and will continue to be so in the foreseeable future as no other manufacturer (except some local brands) have announced a device of this size till now.

The new Samsung Galaxy Note II features a 5.5 inch HD Super Amoled display with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution and a quad core Exynos processor for super fast computing. Along with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean this phablet offers great utility and features. The Galaxy Note II houses a quad core 1.6 GHz Samsung Exynos 4 quad core mobile processor with 2 GB RAM and Mali-400MP graphics chip, which gives it an edge even over the Samsung Galaxy SIII. Samsung has also implemented a new feature called Popup Note that lets the user open the S Note instantly as a pop-up window anywhere on the screen.
The Galaxy Note II has an 8 megapixel camera at the back with auto focus and LED flash. This camera is capable of recording full 1080p HD video at 30 frames per second, and on the front it has a 1.9 megapixel camera for video calling. While Snapdeal.com is offering the phone for Rs 35,700 which is the cheapest upfront price for the phone, you can also look at Sulekha.com which is offering the phone for Rs 36,900 but is offering either Rs 2,300 refund or mobile recharge which effectively means a price of Rs 34,600.
Samsung Galaxy SIII (Rs 30,699)
A relatively new online retailer mirchimart.com is offering it cheapest and also on cash on delivery. Samsung Galaxy S III GT-I9300 arrives with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and Nature UX, though the Android 4.1 update is already available. The Galaxy S III features a 4.8 inch HD (1280 x 720 pixel) Super Amoled Plus PenTile touchscreen display panel. This panel has been built using Corning Gorilla Glass 2 for more strength and protection against scratches. Under the 8.6 mm chassis, Galaxy S III packs a quad core Samsung Exynos 4 quad core mobile processor clocked at 1.4 GHz.

Samsung also has some novel features like Smart Stay that keeps the screen awake so long as the user is looking at it. Once the sensor stops detecting the open eyes, the Smart Stay feature puts the screen into sleep mode and helps save battery. At the back is an 8 megapixel camera with an LED flash that offers simultaneous image capture while the video is being recorded. In the front lies a 1.9 megapixel camera that offers 720p HD video recording at 30 frames per second and can also be used for video chat. The Galaxy S III also packs Bluetooth 4.0, dual-network GPS support, 50 GB Dropbox storage for two years, stereo FM with RDS, and a micro SD card expansion slot. Packing a 2100 mAh battery the Galaxy S III runs longer than any major smartphone for about 12 hours. The phone is currently retailing for Rs 31,900. However, a relatively new retailer mirchimart.com is offering it for Rs 1,200 less than others and is also offering cash on delivery, which is good since the website is new.

LG Optimus 4X HD (Rs 25,990)

Adexmart.com is offering the phone for Rs 25,990 but Sulekha is a close match and cheaper than the others by Rs 2,000. Optimus 4X HD is the new flagship model from LG, which comes with a 4.7 inch True HD IPS panel touchscreen display with 1280 x 720 pixel native resolution. Optimus 4X HD houses a quad core 1.5 GHz Nvidia Tegra processor with a low power GeForce graphics chip. The phone comes with Android 4.0 ICS with Optimus 3.0 UI on it. The sad part is that there is so far no news of Android Jelly Bean update for the phone. LG has used a 1 GB RAM. By default, this smartphone features 16 GB onboard storage and a micro SD slot to accommodate a memory card of up to 64 GB. This smartphone is only 8.9 mm thick and weighs just 133 grams. In this device, LG has used an 8 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash. This camera is capable of recording 1080p HD video at 30 frames per second.

There's also a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera for video calling and chat. Other features include GPS with A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, accelerometer, gyroscope sensor, support for a variety of popular audio-video formats, stereo FM with RDS, WiFi Direct, and DLNA compliance. LG has added a 2150 mAh battery to the Optimus 4X HD to make it run longer and support talk time of about 9.5 hours over 3G. The phone is very close to the Samsung Galaxy S3 in terms of features, and is one of the cheapest quad core phones currently in the market. Adexmart.com, which is the online arm of a Chennai based electronics trading company, is offering the phone for Rs 25,990-about Rs 2,000 cheaper than the average selling price of the phone. If you do not trust this retailer you can look at Sulekha.com, which is offering the phone for Rs 26,090.

Lenovo K860 (Rs 25,750)

Snapdeal.com is offering K860 for Rs 25,750. Lephone K860 is the flagship phone of Lenovo in India. It comes with a quad core 1.4 GHz Samsung Exynos 4412 chip, and a Mali-400MP GPU which is the same as used by Samsung Galaxy Note II and Galaxy SIII. It also gets 1 GB of RAM and is slim at 9.6 mm, making it well worth the top notch device segment. It comes with a 5 inch (1280 x 720 pixel) display, making it bigger than all the above mentioned phones except Galaxy Note II. The 8 megapixel snapper is no slouch either, with support for 100 frames of continuous shooting and 1080p video recording (plus there's a 2 megapixel camera around the front too).

There is also a large 2,250 mAh battery, which is bigger than Galaxy SIII-this is great news since both have the same processor. The sad bit is that SIII still runs on Android 4.0 with no news of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean in the horizon. The phone is available from Snapdeal.com for Rs 25,750. The phone's average selling price is Rs 28,000.
